Regenerative Medicine has Arrived

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the procedure performed?

ExoFlo(™) is injected in the same fashion as PRP treatments for hair loss. The treatment can be done with 2.5 cc or 5 cc depending on the amount of hair loss. The first step is providing local anesthesia to the desired area to numb the region. The preparation is then injected into the scalp using the tiniest of needles just under the skin to thinning scalp areas.
The injections are spaced carefully to maximize the treatment effect with concentrated protein factors that promote hair growth. The treatment is effective in both men and women with most patterns of hair loss. Because the preparation is acellular, the treated areas do not demonstate any inflammation or redness post-treatment.

What are exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny communication vesicles within your stem cells that give them their incredible power to regenerate new tissue (including hair). These tiny nano-particles are only 1/1000th the size of a stem cell and contain over 1000 protein growth factors. Proteins delivered in the exosomes provide cellular communcations that signal healing, anti-inflammatory responses, and cellular growth.

While exosomes can be harvested from most human stem cells, the most powerful ones are derived from mesenchymal stem cells utilized by ExoFlo. These stem cells are used to collect up to 10 billion exosomes per millileter with high-value cellular signals for growth.

In hair loss treatment, the exosomes deliver "wake up" signals to your dormant follicles and stimulate the production of new hair cells.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Exoflo?

ExoFlo can be utilized in early and later stages of hair loss. Additioanlly, it can also be used in combination with PRP or hair transplant. You might be a good candidate if:
• You are thinning or receding.
• You have been told that you are not a good hair transplant candidate.
• You are hesitant to commit to having a hair transplant
• Additional treatment after PRP for hair loss or hair transplant.
• Female pattern baldness
• Women with generalized thinning are excellent candidates.
• You have Traction Alopecia that has resulted in thinning (not bald) areas of your scalp.
*Exoflo therapy is especially promising for women as they often don't have the stable donor sites for hair transplant. Other treatments including minoxidil and PRP have been tried without effect.

Is the treatment safe?

ExoFlo is FDA-approved and is acellular. There is no risk of rejection or hyper-inflammatory responses.

Does it work?

Exosomes are new territory in regenerative medicine. Treatment in hair loss is based on strong science with safety well-established. However, efficacy studies are still lacking and results will likely vary from patient to patient depending on choosing the appropriate candidates.
